Video Competition

Make a video that people see and get inspired by…

Prize: $250 in vouchers to Bunnings/Westfield/Petrol etc (something nationwide) – it may turn out to be more if sponsorship comes through.

People will see your video:  The top 20 entries will be uploaded to the site and will be viewed by thousands of viewers from all around the world.


Time: Less than 3 minutes, 45 seconds long.

Target audience: Men aged 18-35

Theme: The video needs to demonstrate:

  • the importance/value/worth of long-term heterosexual relationships or marriage
  • that there are often ups and downs in a relationship.
  • Give some sort of useful advice (even if it’s subtle) about how to make a long-term relationship work.

Rating: Clean video – i.e. no nudity etc, but the content can be PG rated if it’s on topic – i.e. adult themes are fine if relevant.  Overall though it needs to be clean – i.e. no explicit or overtly sexual jokes etc that would damage the reputation of the site.

How to increase your chances of winning:

  • One way is to have an element of comedy in it
  • Another way is to create something that is real/authentic/honest/revealing and straight from the heart.  Be real – even if it’s hard to hear.
  • Be original/insightful with your advice.
  • The judges will look favourably on your entry if it has some sort of reference to – it could be spoken or written or a sign in the background etc

Conditions of Entry (Here’s the smallprint)

  1. The other way to submit an entry is through youtube.  Your submission needs to be posted as a video response to the clip:
  2. Sign in to your youtube account, then go to our video explanation of the competition at Click on ‘respond to this video’, then click on ‘create a video response’.  Then you can upload your video direct from youtube.
  3. If you choose to post your entry in, entries must be submitted in digital format on DVD at the highest quality possible and sent to: video competition, PO BOX 4157, WESTON ACT 2611
  4. Entry for the Strong Loving Man video, competition is open to all adults. If you’re under 18, you need to get your parents’permission.
  5. All entrants must over 18 years of age, or must have parental permission to enter.  If you win, the prize goes to your parents (who I’d imagine will be giving you the prize, but that’s between you and them)
  6. Entry to the Video Competition is free. (Any cost associated with accessing the promotional websites is the entrant’s responsibility).
  7. The competition opens on Tuesday 15th May 2012.
  8. Entries must be received by close of business on Tuesday, 31st July 2012. Late entries will not be accepted.
  9. Videos and/or animations must be no longer than three minutes and forty-five seconds.
  10. The judges will determine one winner and one runner-up. In the event that suitable entries are not submitted, the judges reserve the right not to award a prize.
  11. Entries will be judged on originality, creativity and impact of the message.
  12. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  13. Competition winners will be announced on August 15th 2012
  14. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. No responsibility is accepted for any variation in the number or value of the prizes.
  15. Prizes must be claimed before 30st October 2012.
  16. Entries must be the entrant’s original work.
  17. Entrants are responsible for any copyrighted music, audio, video and photographs used.
  18. All entries must be submitted in English or be subtitled in English. Entries must not include offensive language or images and must be suitable for display on the Stronglovingman website
  19. The Promoter will not accept any responsibility or liability for any lost or damaged entries.
  20. All entries become the property of the Promoter upon submission. The Promoter manages information collected from entrants in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988. The Promoter may use and publish an entrant’s name, and entry in full or part on the website or other associated website.
  21. Entrants who breach any of these Conditions of Entry may be disqualified.
